Covered Porch ~ New Melle, MO

Posted on

With this project Brian Darnell with the Darnell-Group rebuilt the porch railing using a mortise and tenon technique to fasten everything together. The balusters had tenons on each end that fitted into the corresponding mortises in the upper and lower rails. The ends of the rails had tenons on them that fitted into corresponding mortises on each side of the support posts. Taller support posts were installed and then we added beams to extended the eaves over both porches. We installed framing to accept polycarbonate panels that allow natural light in yet still have the protection a covered porch provides.

ENTERTAIN IN STYLE

This wet bar is part of a finished basement project that we completed. A portion of the cabinetry is repurposed from kitchen remodel on the main level. We purchased stock cabinets to complete the layout then painted them black. Antiqued bronze pulls and massive corbels were added for a dramatic effect.

FARM LIVING CUSTOM HOME

Darnell-Group designed and built this two story custom home to resembles a Folk-Victorian style farm house with a wrap around front porch. Scope of work to build the custom house included site prep and layout, excavation, footings, foundation, grading, flat work, framing, siding, exterior doors and windows. Also roughed in copper water pipes and PVC drain waste and vent pipes. Set the water well pump and installed the water main from well head. This was considered a “sweat equity” project where the homeowner performed all other aspects of the project that we didn’t complete.
